Yolanda A. Curtis, MPA

Executive Director/CEO, Girls Inc. of Delaware

Yolanda Curtis started with Girl’s Inc of Delaware (GIDE) as interim Executive Director in September 2020 charged with the task to set up a Cyber Learning Pod (CLP) at Bancroft Elementary School.  After an organization hiatus, brought on by Covid-19, she recruited a dedicated and qualified staff and volunteers to support the girls attending Girls Inc.  She was instrumental in setting up policies and procedures for this new learning environment.


Upon the successful implementation of two Learning Pod sites, Ms. Curtis was hired as a full-time Executive Director by the GIDE Board of Directors on January 1, 2021.  Ms. Curtis has a proven track record of strong leadership abilities, results achievement, and strong community collaboration.  Ms. Curtis brings to the Girls Inc organization 18 years of experience working for non-profit agencies in Philadelphia and Delaware.  In Delaware, she is well known for her work as an Early Childhood/School Age Consultant and has served as a compliance manger bring several Childcare Centers into OCCL and Delaware Stars compliance.


Ms. Curtis is a seasoned professional who understands the daily operations and business side of nonprofit administration and management.  She is experienced in fundraising strategies and grant revenue generation.  She places particular emphasis on professional development and certification for staff, interns and volunteers.  Ms. Curtis is focused on program implementation of Girls, Inc national programming throughout the state, as well as in creating strategic alliances within Delaware’s 39 school districts.  She will continue to work to implement GIDE’s mission statement and national programming, along with community partners passionate about accomplishing the work essential to ensure girls succeed in this new cyber learning age. We are successfully moving beyond societal norms and will continue to deliver the essential building blocks for girls to become tomorrow’s leaders.
